The Farmers Group of Heraklion – ZOE characterized by the passion of its current owners for Crete, the Mediterranean - Cretan diet and their faith in the Cretan tradition and its values. The Farmers Group of Heraklion - ZOE, is a cheese-making company with a history since 1910 in the foothills of Mount Psiloritis, with traditional cheese-making methods and three generations of experience in animal husbandry. The existing modern cheese factory is located south of Heraklion in the center of Crete and specifically in the area of Vourvoulitis near ancient Gortys which was the largest city and capital of the Roman province "Crete and Cyrenaica" with a population estimated at more than 300,000 inhabitants and at the same time was the point where the first modern cheese making took place in modern Crete in the 1930s, at the Agricultural School of Gortys. The most key areas of activity of the of Farmers Group of Heraklion - ZOE are the following:

  • Major investments soon to be completed by new investors, aim at promoting our products and strengthening our position in markets in Greece and abroad. We believe our unique products, the sheep and goat Graviera of Crete PDO, the goat Graviera of Crete, the Xinomizithra of Crete PDO, Anthotyros dry and fresh, our traditional Cretan cheese from sheep and goat milk (feta), various special cheese products with various flavors of herbs of Crete, our Smoked Gravieras and other cheese products, will enrich the cheese-making map of our country and are worthy "ambassadors" in the global cheese product market.
